Hoop Finder Live ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile app and website.
We collect your GPS coordinates only when you explicitly tap "Start Hooping." We do not collect, store, or track your location in the background or at any other time. Each check-in session expires automatically after 2 hours.
Your email address, display name, username, and optional profile picture provided when you sign up.
Courts you submit, posts and stories you publish, and comments you write are stored to power the community features of the app.
We collect basic app activity such as check-ins started and courts discovered to calculate your in-app "Rep" score. We do not sell this data.
Your location is used solely to: (a) show you nearby basketball courts on the live map, (b) snap you to the nearest known court when you check in, and (c) show other users that a live game is happening at a court. Your coordinates are stored only for the duration of your active session (max 2 hours) and are never retained after your session ends or expires.
We never use your location for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
Your location is only visible on the public map after you manually tap "Start Hooping." There is no automatic or background check-in. When your session ends or expires after 2 hours, your location is removed from the map immediately.
When you check in, your approximate location is shown to all other users of the app on the public live map and in nearby-player lists. This is visible to any app user, logged in or not, unless you enable Incognito Mode.
Enabling Incognito Mode hides your name and profile photo from other users. Your location still contributes anonymously to the activity heatmap.
You can stop sharing at any time by tapping "Stop Hooping."
Every check-in is 100% manual. We will never automatically place you on the map. You must explicitly tap "Start Hooping" each time you want to appear.
Toggle Incognito Mode in your Profile settings to appear as an anonymous "Ghost Player" on the heatmap without revealing your identity.
You can block any other user from your Profile settings or by tapping the "…" menu on their post or map marker. When you block someone, neither you nor the blocked user will see each other on the live map, in the social feed, in comments, or in any nearby-player lists. You can unblock users at any time from the "Blocked Users" section in your Profile.
You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Settings. This removes all your data including sessions, posts, court submissions, and follower relationships.
Active session location data is automatically deleted after 2 hours. Posts, comments, and court submissions remain until you delete them or delete your account. We do not retain location history beyond active sessions.
Hoop Finder Live is intended for users 18 years of age and older. By using the app you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We use OpenStreetMap and CARTO for map tiles. We do not share your personal data with these providers. Their respective privacy policies apply to map tile requests.
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable laws to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data. Contact us at Contact@hoopfinder.live to exercise these rights.
